FREE CalHR Lunchtime Seminars

The California Department of Human Resources offers free lunchtime seminars on "The State Civil Service Hiring Process" and on "Limited Examination and Appointment Process (LEAP)."

All Lunchtime Seminars are conducted at the State Personnel Board located at 801 Capitol Mall, Sacramento, California 95814. It is not necessary to reserve seats in advance; however, seating is available on a first come basis.

Any person with a disability who requires a disability-related modification or accommodation, including auxiliary aids or services, in order to participate in the Seminar, may submit a written or electronic request for such modification or accommodation to the California Department of Human Resources (CalHR), Office of Civil Rights, 1515 S Street, North Building, Sacramento, CA 95811-7258; or at (916) 324-0970 (Voice),7-1-1 California Relay Service, or to leap@calhr.ca.gov, no later than ten days prior to the scheduled Seminar date.

This seminar covers how to search for examinations, complete a application-on-file, how to read an examination bulletin, the different types of examinations, where to find examination scores and ranking information, and how to search for vacancies and apply.

"LIMITED EXAMINATION AND APPOINTMENT PROGRAM"
Come and learn about the Limited Examination and Appointment Program (LEAP). LEAP is an alternate examination and appointment process designed to facilitate the recruitment and hiring of persons with disabilities. Individuals with disabilities who are interested in employment in state civil service will not want to miss this informative seminar. Topics discussed include certification, the readiness evaluation and the job examination period.
