Job Description and Duties

Under the general direction and supervision of the Staff Services Manager II (SSM II), with a significant level of independence, this position is responsible for directing and establishing the objectives of the Outreach Program for the State Treasurer’s Office (STO) and the Boards, Commissions and Authorities (BCAs) chaired by the Treasurer, in the assigned geographic regions within the State. Develops and implements strategies for increasing public awareness of the functions and accomplishments of the Department; and researches and analyzes facts on which decisions or recommendations may be based. The incumbent develops, organizes, plans, and evaluates programs and is responsible for the dissemination of information to the public regarding the activities and objectives of the Department; advises management on public relations related to outreach efforts and the implication of proposed actions; contacts individuals and members of interested organizations to keep them informed about STO/BCAs activities and outreach efforts; researches and interprets information to be disseminated or presented to the public through written materials, including those translated into languages other than English, online or verbally; makes speeches and/or creates presentations before various groups and promotes knowledge and use of the Department’s programs and services.

This is a traveling position. A valid CA driver license in good standing must be held by all applicants who apply.
