Job Description and Duties

Under the general supervision of the Information Technology Supervisor II, this position is assigned to the Technical Support section. Technical Support provides architectural, engineering, operational and project management support for IT systems including the agency’s network, storage, virtualization and computing infrastructure, and the services hosted on them. The IT environment includes production, disaster recovery and test systems in multiple sites.

Department Information

The State Treasurer's Office is a small department located in the historical Unruh Building at 915 Capitol Mall, close to the State Capitol, public transportation and with parking garage options nearby. Knowledge and/or experience with:
  • Demonstrated experience performing all aspect of database administration
  • Demonstrated experience in configuring and implementing database management, monitoring, and reporting tools to achieve 24/7 monitoring; Experience in developing related processes, procedures, and documents to achieve this mission
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and developing complex database queries, stored procedures, and triggers
  • Experience with designing and implementing high availability and disaster recovery database architecture
  • Experience with Information technology database production systems management, monitoring, and incident response and recovery
  • Experience in supporting systems and services offered as SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS experience
  • Experience in supporting systems hosted in the cloud (Azure, AWS, etc)
  • Strong background in working with various DBMS platforms (e.g. SQL, Oracle, DB2)
  • Strong technical and project leadership experience
  • Applied experience in the SDLC and change control process
Demonstrated ability to:
  • Demonstrated experience in Stakeholder Management
  • Adjusting to rapid shifts in priorities while meeting tight stated deadlines.
