Job Description and Duties

Under the general supervision of the Staff Services Manager II in the Personnel Office, this position performs all aspects of personnel transactions for the State Treasurer's Office Administration Division, Executive Office, and all of the BCA’s. The incumbent serves as the expert staff resource responsible for the most difficult and complex personnel/payroll issues; and acts in a lead role over lower-level staff. The incumbent is expected to consistently exercise a high degree of confidentiality, initiative, responsibility and independence in the performance of assigned task with a strong commitment to customer service. Must have ability to share job knowledge, skills and ideas and to develop cooperative working relationships with staff of STO and the BCAs, SCO, CalHR, SPB DOF, CalPERS, auditors, other State agencies and the public.

This position will run until filled with the following cut off date: October 28 of each month.

Department Information

The State Treasurer's Office is a small department located in the historical Unruh Building at 915 Capitol Mall, close to the State Capitol, public transportation and with parking garage options nearby. The building is adjacent to the State Capitol Park, which is a wonderful place to exercise and enjoy the beautiful landscape during the fair-weathered months. Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment.
