Job Description and Duties

The Contractors State License Board (CSLB) is currently recruiting for an Information Technology Specialist I in the Office of Information Technology located in Sacramento.  

The Information Technology Specialist I position is in the Software Engineering domain.

CSLB is located close to Highway 50 & Bradshaw Road and has FREE PARKING!

Under the direction of the Information Technology Manager I, the incumbent will perform programming, execute and troubleshoot Job Control Language (JCL) batch jobs, write detailed procedures, and perform database administration and system analysis. The incumbent will complete the software development life cycle consisting of requirements analysis, application design, code, testing, manipulation, integration, and maintenance to produce and implement properly designed and tested application solutions to meet CSLB’s business needs.

Special Requirements

The incumbent has access to the Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI). Title 11, Section 703(d) of the California Code of Regulations requires criminal record checks of all personnel who have access to CORI. Pursuant to this requirement the incumbent will be required to submit fingerprints to the Department of Justice and be cleared before hiring. In accordance to DCA’s CORI procedures, clearance shall be maintained while employed is in a CORI-designated position. Additionally, the position routinely works with sensitive and confidential issues and/or materials and is expected to maintain the privacy and confidentiality of documents and topics pertaining to individuals or to sensitive program matters at all times.
