Job Description and Duties

Under close supervision by the Staff Service Manager I, in a learning capacity, the Student Assistant will provide support to the California Department of Technology (CDT) Facilities staff by assisting with or performing the following: Relocate staff equipment, respond to Service Desk tickets, and building maintenance issues, assist with updating department floorplan and seating chart diagrams, direct movers in the relocation of furniture and equipment, assist with modular furniture reconfigurations, prepare vacant cubicles and private offices for incoming staff, assist with the management of department’s bike locker program, make minor temperature adjustments in conference rooms, private offices and cubicle suites, submit visitor log information and escort vendors performing facility-related work in the building, conduct periodic facility walk-throughs and checklist, and work closely with property managers, contractors, building engineers, facilities, warehouse and security staff members. These duties will be performed primarily at our Rancho Cordova location, but will occasionally require travel between other CDT locations in the Sacramento area. This position requires a current California Driver License, and an excellent driving record.

Special Requirements

The Student must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate student, carrying a minimum of 6 semester units, or 9 quarter units, possess a minimum 2.0 GPA, with major course study in Business Administration or related field

Desirable Qualifications

  • Ability to work part-time hours Monday through Friday 8 AM – 5 PM depending on your class schedule

This student position is contracted with the Foundation for California Community Colleges (FCCC); the student will perform work for the California Department of Technology, but is considered an employee of the Foundation for California Community Colleges.
