State Fund’s Government Affairs unit has an exciting opportunity for a Legislative Analyst at the AGPA level in the Sacramento office. Under the direct supervision of the Vice President of Government Affairs, we are looking for an enthusiastic individual with strong analytical and excellent writing skills.

In this role you:

  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to obtain, evaluate, and rigorously analyze data to determine operational and fiscal impacts
  • Will provide policy analysis, strategy development, and communication for the public policy issues that are critical to State Fund
  • Will be high profile and work in a time-sensitive environment

Our ideal candidates will have the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Knowledge of the legislative process in California
  • Knowledge of State Fund’s organizational structure and operations
  • Ability to interpret and apply laws/regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Ability to research, analyze, and evaluate information using critical thinking and logic
  • Ability to perform an objective and well-organized legislative analysis
  • Ability to write concisely in a professional manner
  • Ability to prioritize multiple work assignments and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of management
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and as a team with co-workers and management to address and resolve issues
  • Ability to exercise initiative to develop and maintain knowledge and skills
  • Regular and predictable attendance
