Job Description and Duties

The Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) is recruiting to fill a Staff Services Analyst (SSA) position in the Basic Training Bureau.

POST may consider hiring at the Associate Governmental Program Analyst level. If the position is filled at this level, the duty statement will be modified to reflect the full journey analyst level duties.

Working Conditions

This position is located at POST headquarters in West Sacramento. 

Regular and consistent attendance is critical to the successful performance of this position. The office is located in a two-story builiding with a business park setting.

Travel throughout California will be required up to 30% of the time.

This position requires the possession of strong analytical skills and an in-depth understanding of complex regulatory and statutory requirements that direct much of the Basic Training Bureau’s programs. The position will plan, organize and coordinate various basic course presenter reviews, workshop presentations and site visits, as well as analyze legislative changes affecting basic course content.
