Job Description and Duties

The Contractors State License Board
is currently recruiting for a General Auditor III within the Enforcement Division.

This position is located in Sacramento.

Under the direction of the CEA A, Chief of Enforcement, or Supervising Special Investigator II Peace Officer (Supervising Peace Officer), the General Auditor III will be responsible for providing thorough investigation of cases of illegal construction activities throughout the State of California.

The incumbent must possess excellent oral and communications skills, use good judgment in decision making, exercise creativity and flexibility in problem identification and resolution, use good time management, use resources effectively, and be responsive to CSLB and Department of Consumer Affairs management needs.

The incumbent is required to occasionally travel throughout the state by various methods of transportation. The incumbent must also possess a valid driver license, a good driving record, and is expected to drive vehicles safely.

The incumbent shall participate in DMV’s Employer Pull Notice Program (EPN), which is a process for providing the Department with a report showing the driver’s current public record as recorded by the DMV, and any subsequent convictions, failures to appear, accidents, driver’s license suspensions, driver’s license revocations, or any other actions taken against the driving privilege or license, added to the driver’s DMV record. Title 11, section 703(d) of the California Code of Regulations requires criminal record checks of all personnel who have access to Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI). Pursuant to this requirement, incumbents for this position will be required to submit fingerprints to the Department of Justice and be cleared before hiring.

Additionally, this position is subject to Title 16, section 3830 of the California Code of Regulations, the Department of Consumer Affairs’ Conflict of Interest Regulations. The incumbent is required to submit a Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700) within 30 days of assuming office, annually by April 1st, and within 30 days of leaving office.

The incumbent shall work up to a maximum of 1500 hours per year based on the needs of the program.
