Job Description and Duties

The California Energy Commission’s Fuels and Transportation Division (FTD) is seeking exceptional people to build upon and shape California’s transportation energy future. FTD seeks an Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) in its Administration Office. The incumbent would serve the role of Budget & Agreement Lead Analyst.

FTD administers the Clean Transportation Program, which is investing more than $1 billion to accelerate the deployment of zero-emission transportation infrastructure, support in-state manufacturing, and workforce training and development. The Energy Commission leverages public and private investments to support adoption of cleaner transportation powered by zero-emission, alternative, and renewable fuels. The program plays an important role in achieving California’s ambitious goals on climate change, petroleum reduction, and adoption of zero-emission vehicles, as well as efforts to reach air quality standards. The program supports the state’s sustainable, long-term economic development.

The incumbent will support the management and oversight of FTD funding programs by performing administrative, fiscal, and budgetary information dissemination activities. This will include tracking FTD’s active agreements by utilizing Excel spreadsheets, compiling data on the status of agreements, working with Commission Agreement Managers to provide updates to management, and regularly reconciling fiscal information between internal databases and FI$Cal reports.

Working Conditions

The California Energy Commission offers a hybrid workplace model that is designed to support a distributed workforce of both office-based and remote-centric workers that relies heavily on telework. Limited in-person attendance and occasional travel may be required based on the needs of the division. Regular and consistent attendance is essential to successful performance in this position. This position is remote centered, which means the employee works 50 percent or more of the time from an alternate work location (telework).
