Under the direction of the Dean of Institutional Effectiveness, the SSM I (Specialist) functions as a nonsupervisory staff member in a difficult and sensitive program development, policy, and coordination position. Must possess higher-level knowledge, skills, and abilities about complex California Community Colleges planning processes, such as integrated planning, data disaggregation, and strategic enrollment management. Coordinates and monitors the IEPI Specialized Training grant(s) and/or contract(s), which total approximately $20 million annually with multiple year contracts in play simultaneously. Works independently and acts authoritatively in negotiating Scopes of Work with leads of stakeholder organizations and providers to help achieve IEPI’s goals of improving the institutional effectiveness of colleges and districts and resolves issues with deliverables. Works closely with other Chancellor’s Office division staff and Vice Chancellors to proactively identify and coordinate IEPI Specialized Training development and delivery on topics that originate within the Chancellor’s Office. Co-facilitates the efforts of Specialized Training planning committees. As needed, serves as primary liaison between program planning committees and IEPI event planning vendor for all Specialized Training activity. Participates in the IEPI Advisory Committee and workgroups and develops programs that are borne out of convening’s.

- Work in a climate-controlled, open office environment under artifical lighting.

- Overnight travel throughout the State is required.
