Department Information

Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility is currently canvassing for Correctional Counselor II, Supervisor.

One vacancy and any other vacancies that may occur during the life of the certification list.

Job Description and Duties

Under the general direction of the Captain, and with oversight of classification issues provided by the Classification and Parole Representative, the Correctional Counselor II (CCII) (Supervisor), provides supervision and conducts case reviews for Correctional Counselor I (CCI); provide supervision and training to CCIs on the classification process in order to develop and improve employee work performance and to maintain compliance with policies and procedures, regulations, and court mandates; complete written performance reports on employees to ensure performance objectives and standards are met; prepare, present, and track Institutional Classification Committee (ICC) cases; review cases at the Classification Staff Representative (CSR) desk to ensure casework completeness and accuracy, review information from various tracking systems including, but not limited to, the  Strategic Offender Management System (SOMS), Life Scheduling and Tracking System (LSTS), and Disability and Effective Communication System (DEC) in order to identify and correct noncompliance issues; participates as a member of the Unit Classification Committee (UCC) and act as a classification resource to the Captain on pertinent case factors; and act as a liaison with the Mental Health Services Delivery System staff, Medical Providers, Educational staff, SAP staff, SB 618 staff, Facility staff, inmate family members, inmates, and other parties as needed.
