Job Description and Duties

The Contractors State License Board is currently recruiting for an Office Technician (Typing) in the Examination Administration Unit.

The position is located in San Jose.

Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager I, the incumbent has extensive, in-person public contact on a daily basis and performs the most complex examination administration tasks while working at the full journey level and demonstrating a high degree of independence. The Contractors State License Board (CSLB) conducts testing for applicants for licensure. These tests are administered by computer using Local Area Networks (LANS) at eight remote sites on a daily basis. The incumbent provides oral translation of the English and Spanish language a minimum of 10% of the time while performing the OT (T) duties and responsibilities.

This 12-month Limited Term position has the possibility of becoming permanent.

Special Requirements

  • The position(s) require(s) the ability to type at a minimum speed as designated on the Class Specifications (link available in the additional documentation section). You must obtain a valid typing certificate confirming your ability to meet the minimum typing speed, prior to being hired. Additional information regarding acceptable typing tests is available at the JOBS.ca.gov website.
This position is designated Bilingual. Incumbent in this position provides oral and/or written translation of the English and Spanish language a minimum of 10% of the time while performing the duties of the position.
