Job Description and Duties

Under the supervision of the Supervising Registered Nurse II/III, Correctional Facility (CF), the Registered Nurse (RN), CF organizes and provides necessary nursing care in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, regulations, and program requirements in a variety of correctional health care settings. The RN, CF in collaboration with the health care team ensures the delivery of appropriate and timely health care to patients and coordinates interdisciplinary communication to promote continuity of care. The RN, CF is responsible for addressing the ongoing health care needs of patients and for promoting the timely, efficient, and appropriate use of health care resources.

Minimum Qualifications

Possession of a current license as Registered Nurse in California. (Applicants who do not meet this requirement will be admitted to the examination, but they must secure the required license before they will be considered eligible for appointment.)

This Recruitment is for Limited Intermittent Employee (L.I.E.)

This position will be limited to 1500 hours per calendar year (January 1st through December 31st) and will be used on an on-call, as-needed basis with no guarantee of hours or a certain shift.

Intermittent time base is Positive Pay.  Payroll for Positive Pay employees is issued from attendance reports after close of the pay period and is paid by the 15th of the following month.
