Job Description and Duties

The Oceanside Field Office is looking for an enthusiastic individual with a positive attitude and excellent customer service skills for a public contact position. The duties of the position include: Cashiering, providing assistance to the public regarding licensing and vehicle registration related matters, reviewing and processing forms and applications pertaining to the licensing of drivers, identification cards and vehicle registrations. Dependability and punctuality are essential.

Skills to meet job requirements at entry level are: Written/Verbal Communication, Interpersonal, Learning Ability, Mathematical and Cashiering Abilities.

Transfer candidates are encouraged to apply.

Spanish bilingual preferred but not required.

All eligible applicants may apply; however, hiring preference will be given to current permanent full-time Motor Vehicle Representative (MVR) lateral transfer applicants or eligible permanent intermittent MVR applicants through the Post and Bid process.  A training and development assignment will be considered.  SROA/Surplus candidates are encouraged to apply. 

The position(s) being advertised may be subject to allocation approval by the Human Resources Branch.  Fingerprint/Criminal Record Clearance is required before hire.  The Salary Range shown is the minimum and maximum for a full-time appointment.  Salaries for part-time and/or intermittent appointments may vary.
