Job Description and Duties

Under the general supervision of the Correctional Health Services Administrator I/II, the Property Controller II, Correctional Facility (CF) is responsible for all property accounts, records, and the location of such property. The Property Controller II, CF records the receipt of new property and its proper identification; maintains and reports on equipment inventory; distributes property to the authorized units and custodians; process property requests, recommends transfer of property, and arranges for movement of property. The Property Controller II, CF maintains order and supervises the conduct of inmates and protects and maintains the safety of persons and property, and may instruct, lead, or supervise inmate-workers.

Special Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

Either I: One year of experience in the California state service performing the duties of Property Controller I.

 

Or II: Two years of experience inventorying and maintaining property and equipment control records in the California state service. (Experience below the level of Office Assistant II is not considered qualifying.)

 

Or III: Three years of experience inventorying and maintaining control records for a wide variety of property and equipment or expendable storekeeping items.
