Job Description and Duties

The Contractors State License Board is currently recruiting for an Associate Governmental Program Analyst within the Licensing Division, located in Sacramento.

Under the direction of the Licensing and Examination Division Chief (CEA A), the Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) will perform the more responsible, varied, complex analytical and program licensing support work for the Licensing Division.

The incumbent works 40 hours per week in an office setting, with artificial light and temperature control. The ability to use a personal computer and telephone is essential.  The incumbent must occasionally position self to perform a variety of tasks, including retrieval of files.

The incumbent must reason logically and creatively and utilize a wide variety of skills in order to resolve complex business-related issues/problems.  The incumbent must be able to develop and evaluate alternatives, research and present ideas and information effectively both orally and in writing.  Consult with and advise interested parties on Licensing Processing Laws, Regulations, processes, procedures, must gain the confidence and achieve the cooperation of those contacted.  The incumbent must set priorities to achieve daily responsibilities and be prepared to work on other projects at any given time.

This position has access to Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI).  Title 11, section 703 (d) of the California Code of Regulations requires criminal record checks of all personnel who have access to Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI).  Pursuant to this requirement, applicants for this position will be required to submit fingerprints to the Department of Justice and be cleared before hiring.  In accordance to DCA’s (CORI) procedures, clearance shall be maintained while employed in a CORI-designated position.  Additionally, the position routinely works with sensitive and confidential issues and/or materials and is expected to maintain the privacy and confidentiality of documents and topics pertaining to individuals or to sensitive program matters at all times.
