This position is located in Sacramento at DMV Headquarters.
Serving as first level supervisor Project Management Group, the IT Supervisor II provides leadership, guidance, training, and support to team members. Ensures team performs in accordance with the CA-PMF and DMV PM methodologies. Ensures all projects are monitored, tracked and include appropriate metrics.
The IT Supervisor II leads and manages multi-disciplined business and technical teams to deliver the DMV’s larger, most complex IT projects with statewide impact. Will work with Representatives of CDT as required. Ensures projects align with the State’s budgeting process, legislative and administrative procedures, procurement documents and procedures, and the roles and responsibilities of oversight and regulatory agencies.
The IT Supervisor II ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget and meet established strategic and business requirements. The supervisor provides representation in departmental workgroups, making recommendations that align with state and department methodologies. This position also supports the Enterprise Project Management Office in developing and maintaining the DMV Project Management Framework, Systems Development Life Cycle and other project delivery frameworks.
A minimum of five (5) years of experience as an IT project manager controlling and overseeing all aspects of IT projects including integration, scope, schedule, cost, quality, resource, communications, risk, procurement, and stakeholder management and the systems development life cycle (SDLC) is required.
Experience with California Department of Technology’s Project Approval Lifecycle (PAL) and Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) or Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) are desired.
