California's Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD) is the leader in collecting data and disseminating information about California's healthcare infrastructure.  We promote an equitably distributed healthcare workforce, and publish valuable information about healthcare outcomes.  We also monitor the construction, renovation, and seismic safety of hospitals and skilled nursing facilities and provides loan insurance to assist the capital needs of California's not-for-profit healthcare facilities.

Job Description and Duties

The incumbent serves as the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development’s Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).  The CISO advocates for complete information security needs and is responsible for a comprehensive information security strategy to optimize the security posture of the department.  The CISO leads the design, development and delivery of a security program that leverages collaborations and department resources, facilitates information security governance, advises senior leadership on security direction and resource investments, and identifies appropriate policies to manage information security risk.  The CISO provides critical security policy guidance in support of OSHPD programs, strategic goals, and business objectives.  The CISO has full management and supervisory responsibility to develop, recommend, and oversee staff and the implementation of information security policies, practices, training and guidelines that help ensure the integrity, confidentiality, reliability and appropriate use of all OSHPD information assets.

Working Conditions

Headquartered in downtown Sacramento, we are walking distance from the Lincoln Plaza Café at CalPERS, coffee shops, daily food trucks, and other restaurants.  We offer a discounted monthly parking garage option and some metered on-street parking.  In summer 2017, we will be relocating just outside of downtown Sacramento with all new amenities including FREE PARKING.
